Hamilton has been good to us. Some of our favourite builds are here, from a family pool house with a sauna and steam room side by side to a steam room that changed someone's life.
The Hamilton pool house has the biggest heater we've ever put into a private home, 22 kW, in a sauna lined with thermally modified alder and a schist stone wall. Across town, a free-standing steam room gives its owner steam therapy whenever she needs it.
We've also worked on public and commercial saunas around the region, for Hamilton City Council and at the new South Waikato Aquatic Centre in Tokoroa, which reopened in October 2026.
Saunas, steam rooms and hybrids.
Every room we build is designed for its space. That might be a standalone outdoor sauna, a sauna in the pool house, a corner of the garage, or a compact sauna built into joinery. We also build steam rooms and hybrid saunas with a traditional heater and infrared together, and wood-fired saunas where there's no power to spare.
Benches are made and test-fitted in our Auckland workshop, then the room is built on site with Finnish and Estonian sauna timber and Harvia heaters we import ourselves. Behind the walls it's the same every time: proper insulation, a real vapour barrier, heat-rated cable and good ventilation.
Waikato homes, Waikato weather.
Waikato sections are often bigger, which opens up great options: a standalone outdoor sauna by the pool, a sauna and steam room in the pool house, or a wood-fired sauna on a lifestyle block.
Frosty winter mornings and hot, humid summers are both hard on a sauna that isn't built properly. Insulation, a proper vapour barrier and good ventilation keep the room heating fast and staying sound, year after year.
Hamilton is an easy run from our Auckland workshop. Benches are made and test-fitted there first, so the time on site is short and tidy.
Servicing, repairs and upgrades.
We service saunas whether we built them or not: worn-out stones, tired benches, heaters that take forever to heat, poor ventilation and smells. A new heater or a set of fresh benches can make an old sauna feel new again.

Common questions.
Do you build saunas in Hamilton?
Yes. We've built home saunas and steam rooms in Hamilton, and worked on council and public facilities in the Waikato.
Can you build a sauna and steam room together?
Yes. Our Hamilton pool house has both side by side. Building them together often saves on plumbing, electrics and space.
Do you travel from Auckland for Waikato jobs?
Yes. Benches are built in our Auckland workshop, then our team builds the room on site.
Do you do commercial saunas?
Yes, for councils, aquatic centres, gyms and spas. See the Tokoroa aquatic centre and Napier Ocean Spa.
Send us a few photos of the space and rough measurements. That is usually enough for us to tell you what is possible and give you a price.
